About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and commercially minded Junior Buyer to join The Athlete's Foot Buying team. Reporting into the Head of Buying, you will support the end-to-end management of a portfolio of brands, helping to drive product strategy, range selection, and commercial performance across the business.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of retail, a passion for product, and the ability to balance trend awareness with commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute product strategies across your assigned brand portfolio in line with TAF’s overall business strategy and OTB plans
- Support the end-to-end buying process, including range selection, seasonal assortment planning, and store grading
- Analyse market trends, customer insights, competitor activity, and performance data to identify growth opportunities
- Maintain strong relationships with brand partners and suppliers to deliver against key business objectives
- Attend seasonal range showings and collaborate with brand partners to understand product direction and execution
- Partner with Marketing teams to support promotional plans and key product stories
- Work closely with Planning, Retail Operations, and Store teams to ensure product flow and store requirements are effectively managed
- Prepare weekly reporting and analyse sales performance to identify key drivers, opportunities, and recommendations
- Manage buying administration and support the wider Buying team across seasonal processes
About You
- Previous experience in buying or assistant buying within multi-brand retail
- Strong commercial understanding and ability to interpret sales performance and market trends
- Passionate about product, trends, and customer behaviour
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across internal teams and external partners
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups
- Experience with OTB management and buying metrics preferred
- Experience within performance footwear or the sportswear market is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of Style Arcade and AP21 is preferred
