Salesforce Functional Tester
Experience: 2 to 3 Years | Location: Remote
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Functional Tester with 2 to 3 years of experience in manual/functional testing, including hands-on exposure to Salesforce implementations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating Salesforce configurations, workflows, and business processes across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or custom Salesforce applications. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with Business Analysts, Salesforce Developers/Admins, and Product Owners to ensure high-quality releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to design effective test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform functional testing of application modules, including workflows, validation rules, and approval processes.
- Execute manual test cases, record test results, and clearly document defects with proper steps, screenshots, and evidence using JIRA or similar tool.
- Validate configuration changes such as fields, flows, automation rules, and access/permission settings against business requirements.
- Test integrations with third-party systems/APIs to ensure accurate data flow and business logic.
- Conduct regression testing during system migrations and after new feature deployments or defect fixes.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers/Admins, and Product Owners to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and testing sign-off activities.
- Validate end-to-end business processes and integrations from a user perspective.
- Support UAT activities by assisting business users and addressing reported defects in sandbox/staging environments.
- Maintain test documentation, including test cases, test execution reports, and defect logs.
- Follow defined QA processes, standards, and best practices within the delivery lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2 to 3 years of experience in functional/manual testing, with hands-on exposure to Salesforce applications or configurations.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce fundamentals — objects, fields, flows/process builder, validation rules, reports/dashboards, and basic security model (profiles/permission sets).
- Experience testing across sandboxes and familiarity with Salesforce release cycles.
- Familiarity with test management/defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar).
- Good understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to write clear, structured test cases and defect reports.
- Salesforce Administrator certification
