South West Community Transport (SWCT), a leading not-for-profit organization based in Minto, is offering an exciting opportunity for a professional Driver to join our team on a casual basis. We are dedicated to providing safe, accessible, and reliable transport services to elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and their carers, helping them get to appointments, shopping trips, and social outings.
About Us: At SWCT, we operate a fleet of 52 vehicles, including station wagons and 25-seat buses, with many of our vehicles being fully wheelchair accessible and equipped with proper restraints for safe transport. Our focus is on ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service, making their travel experience comfortable and secure.
Your Role: As a Professional Driver with SWCT, your excellent customer service skills will be key to building positive relationships with our diverse clientele. You will help ensure timely, safe, and efficient transport services while assisting clients with mobility aids like walkers and wheelchairs. You will also ensure compliance with all relevant road rules, safety regulations, and organizational procedures.
This dynamic and fast-paced role requires someone who can take direction well, prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines with confidence.
Essential Skills
- Minimum LR (Light Rigid) Licence
- Transport for NSW Bus Drivers Authority (or be willing to obtain within first month of employment)
- First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain within first month of employment)
- Point to Point authorisation (or be willing to obtain within first month of employment)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Clean Driving Record
- An understanding of issues relevant to people who are transport disadvantaged including people who are frail aged, younger people with disabilities and their carers
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse communities
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated organisational, scheduling skills
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and show initiative
Desirable Skills
- Flexibility in tasks and work hours
- Previous experience in community work
- Knowledge of the Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Local Government Areas.
