We are expanding our team in the Wollongong area and are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join us.
About the Role
As a Spur Care Disability Support Worker, you will provide tailored support aligned with each participant's individual goals, daily routines, and lifestyle choices.
Due to specific participant personal care requirements and gender preferences, we are actively encouraging female applicants to apply for these roles; however, male support workers are also welcome and encouraged to express their interest for upcoming shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care & Assistance: Support participants with daily routine personal care (showering, dressing, grooming, hygiene) with dignity and respect.
- Community Access & Social Activities: Accompany and support participants to engage in local activities, appointments, shopping, and social events.
- Transport: Safe transportation of participants for daily outings and appointments.
- Independence & Skill Building: Empower participants to build independent living skills, maintain daily routines, and build confidence.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document key shift information and participant progress.
Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable, insured vehicle
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and reliability
- Rights to work in Australia
