About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in the Mount Pritchard area. This role involves providing consistent, high-quality support to participants with mental health conditions, helping them build independence, stability, and confidence in their daily lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs
- Support participants with mental health conditions in daily routines
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans, protocols, and NDIS guidelines
- Monitor and document medication administration accurately
- Observe and report any changes in participant health or behaviour
- Assist with community access and social engagement
- Promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and life skills
- Follow care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate and detailed case notes
- Communicate effectively with families, coordinators, and allied health professionals
- Ensure compliance with NDIS standards and We Care policies
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions (mandatory)
- Experience or confidence in medication administration
- Strong understanding of mental health support and behaviour management
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Police Check
Desirable (Highly Regarded)
- Nursing background or Assistant in Nursing (AIN) qualification
- Medication competency training/certification
- Experience with high-intensity or complex care
- Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or Mental Health
- Experience working in SIL or 24/7 care environments
Pay: $40.00 – $70.00 per hour
