We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Officer to bring the City of Boroondara's programs, services and stories to life through engaging social media and e-newsletter content.
You’ll use your creativity, multimedia capabilities and communications skills to help us inform, engage and support our community.
A little bit about the role
The Digital Marketing Officer supports the Strategic Communications department to ensure Council’s digital marketing activities are effective, and Council’s social media and email newsletters are driving positive community outcomes.
This role reports to the Digital Marketing Lead and works with internal stakeholders across Council to deliver campaigns, produce platform appropriate multimedia content and use performance insights to continually improve Council’s digital communications.
The Digital Marketing Officer plays an integral role in helping Council connect with the community through timely, accessible and engaging content.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and produce platform appropriate content, including video, photography and written content for social media and email newsletters.
- Work with internal partners to deliver digital marketing campaigns that are informed by customer insights, data, market trends and best-practice approaches.
- Write, edit and publish accessible digital content that provides a positive customer experience.
- Maintain publishing schedules and ensure Council’s digital channels remain active, timely and aligned with community interests.
- Monitor and moderate community interactions across digital channels in line with Council policies and agreed processes.
- Use analytics and reporting to measure performance, identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Manage digital marketing activity (paid and organic), including campaign setup, audience targeting, budget monitoring and performance optimisation.
- Provide digital communications advice, training and input to support continuous improvement across Council
A little bit about you
You will have proven ability to engage and grow audiences on social media, underpinned by a deep knowledge of social media platforms, contemporary content approaches, creative trends and audience behaviour.
You have demonstrated experience producing multimedia content for social media and email newsletter audiences reflecting platform specific aesthetics and viewer preferences.
You will have demonstrated experience working in a multi-stakeholder environment developing marketing strategies and delivering digital marketing campaigns.
You will be a confident communicator with strong writing skills and the ability to build effective relationships throughout the organisation.
You will have the ability to use digital analytics to gather information and identify insights and moderate digital channels and manage online community interactions to deliver the best possible customer outcomes. You will also bring tertiary qualifications in marketing, media, communications or a related discipline, or relevant professional experience in a similar role.
