Primary objective
Provide a medical record compilation and volumising service in accordance with best practice and which supports corporate
and clinical imperatives
Context statement
This position involves repetitious clerical duties and necessitates attention to detail and a high level of concentration to
perform at the level required.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Ensure the timely and accurate compilation and volumising of patient medical records.
2. Contribute to month-end reporting to support hospital revenue imperatives.
3. Identify new forms and notify supervisor accordingly.
4. Be responsive to requests for volumising medical records at short notice.
5. Observe confidentiality and information privacy.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience working within a record management environment.
2. Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to remain focused while completing repetitious tasks.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage a high workload and meet deadlines.
4. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
5. Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of the wider patient services team.
Desirable
1. Experience in the operation of patient management system (ACACIA, CARESYS and Clinical Work Station).
