Job Description
Join the dedicated clinical team at Ramsay Clinic Cairns as a Casual Enrolled Nurse and provide compassionate, patient-centred care to adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges.

As a member of our clinical team, you will provide high-quality nursing care under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurses, working collaboratively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to support positive recovery outcomes.
About You
You are a compassionate and dedicated Enrolled Nurse with an interest in mental health nursing and a commitment to providing safe, respectful and recovery-focused care.
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are confident building therapeutic relationships with patients. You understand your scope of practice and are able to work effectively under the direction of Registered Nurses and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality and patient-centred nursing care to adults experiencing mental health challenges.

Support Registered Nurses in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.

Develop therapeutic and professional relationships with patients.

Monitor patients' mental and physical wellbeing and report changes in condition or behaviour appropriately.

Administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice and in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

Support patients in their treatment and recovery plans.

Assist patients with activities of daily living and promote independence and dignity.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Participate in clinical handovers and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, Registered Nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Recognise and escalate clinical concerns or changes in patient presentation.

Promote patient safety, privacy, dignity and confidentiality.

Contribute to a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment.

Participate in education, professional development and quality improvement activities.
You Will Also Bring

Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse.
-
IV qualification is not required for this position.

Previous mental health nursing experience is highly regarded.

An interest in adult mental health nursing.

Understanding of Enrolled Nurse scope of practice and relevant legislation.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to establish positive and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental approach to patient care.

Ability to recognise and appropriately escalate changes in a patient's mental or physical health.

Ability to work effectively under the direction of Registered Nurses.

Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Strong commitment to patient safety, quality care and professional practice.

Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

Flexibility and availability to work a casual roster, including weekends and varied shifts as required.
Remuneration
On offer is a base hourly rate of $35.78–$38.82 + 25% casual loading + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties and allowances (QLD EN Level 1, Years 1–5).
