Who we are:
Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumer stay well in the community. The team provide specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people.
What you’ll be doing:
The Senior Community Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing advanced evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers' recovery plans.
The senior role is also responsible for complex clinical decision making, supervision and consultancy to colleagues, Community Managed Organisations, GPs and our community. The role will include supporting orientation, induction and mentorship of new clinical staff. The role will participate in quality improvement activities, clinical supervision and leadership responsibilities as required.
The Senior Community Mental Health Professional provides expert and effective mental health intervention, assessment and crisis service to people experiencing an acute mental health concern in the community. This involves proactive mental health assessment and engagement in community settings.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Australian recognised tertiary qualifications in nursing, psychology, clinical psychology, or other recognised qualification within the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award (i.e., social work, occupational therapy) and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Nurses or eligibility for membership of the relevant discipline peak body e.g., AASW for Social Workers
