About the role:
Lead the growth, profitability and future direction of Unitywater's Private Works business. As Private Works Manager, you will combine commercial leadership, business development and operational excellence to identify new opportunities, strengthen industry partnerships and maximise the value of our people, capabilities and assets. Working across the development, construction and infrastructure sectors, you'll position Private Works as a preferred delivery partner while leading a high-performing team to deliver safe, efficient and commercially successful outcomes.
In this role, you will:

Must Have
- Relevant qualifications in Business, Management, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience leading commercially accountable teams and delivering revenue growth and profitability outcomes.
- Proven success developing and executing business development and growth strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities in competitive markets.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience developing proposals, negotiating contracts and delivering profitable outcomes.
- Experience building strategic relationships with customers, partners, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Proven leadership experience managing operational, construction, infrastructure or field-based teams.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on approach to delivery and execution.
- Experience assessing market opportunities and translating insights into practical growth initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, including the preparation of business cases, commercial proposals and executive-level recommendations.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and create engaged, high-performing teams.
- A collaborative approach and proven ability to work across multiple business units to achieve shared outcomes.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.

- Experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure construction, operations or maintenance.
- Experience working with local government, TMR, property development or civil construction stakeholders.
- Established industry networks across the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay or broader South East Queensland market.
- Experience managing subcontractor delivery models, supplier relationships and commercial partnerships.
- Experience leading business transformation, capability development or operational improvement initiatives.
- A genuine passion for growing a business and identifying new commercial opportunities.
- An entrepreneurial mindset combined with sound commercial judgement and risk awareness.
- The ability to build trusted relationships quickly and influence positive outcomes.
