Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187 bed acute Medical and advanced surgical hospital situated on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead, 15 kms south of the Newcastle CBD.
Job Description
Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic General Services Officer to join our Catering Team.
About the Role
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for:

Exceptional customer service

Being responsive and sensitive to customer information, their needs and wants

Setting up, plating and distributing patient meals and beverages
-
Undertake cleaning duties throughout the department and at ward level whilst keeping in line with HACCP/Food Safety regulations infection control and hospital standards

Assisting the broader catering team with daily operations and special requirements.

Monitoring and managing stock levels to ensure efficient service delivery.

Working across a rotating 7-day roster, including morning and afternoon shifts.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be a reliable team player with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to patient care and food safety.
You will also demonstrate:

A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety practices.

Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional manner.

The ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
-
Previous experience in a hospital or commercial kitchen setting (highly regarded but not essential).

Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster.
-
A willingness to embrace and promote Ramsay Health Care’s core values.

Knowledge of HACCP and food handling compliance.
