About the role
In this position, you will strengthen safe, high quality and person-centered aged and community care by stewarding Aged & Community Care (“ACC”) quality systems, supporting accreditation readiness and guiding teams to apply the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards in everyday practice. The role contributes to the Aged and Community Care Framework and associated Continuous Improvement Plan by analysing quality insights, shaping improvement projects and ensuring aligned updates across processes, systems and capability supports.
Day to day, you will:
- Lead the stewardship of ACC quality systems by maintaining and strengthening frameworks, procedures, work instructions and audit tools in line with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and all legislative and contractual requirements
- Provide authoritative guidance on applying the Standards and translate sector expectations into practical actions that support safe, person centred and culturally safe practice
- Lead accreditation readiness activities by coordinating evidence, monitoring progress and preparing teams for external assessments
- Conduct internal audits, analyse findings and guide teams to implement corrective and preventative actions
- Monitor quality system performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to support effective risk management and continuous improvement
- Lead analysis of audits, incidents, complaints, feedback, indicators and consumer insights to identify trends, systemic risks and improvement opportunities
- Support partnership and brokering activities by contributing quality assurance requirements, monitoring arrangements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support and influence teams to embed quality, risk and continuous improvement practices into everyday service delivery
What you will bring
- Demonstrated understanding of the aged care regulatory environment, including the Aged Care Act, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and associated compliance obligations
- Demonstrated ability to interpret the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards with confidence and provide clear, practical guidance that supports consistent, safe and person-centred practice
- High level of knowledge, skills and capability to lead quality assurance and continuous improvement activities, using data, audits and consumer insights to identify trends and shape improvement priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to coach, influence and support colleagues to strengthen quality outcomes across diverse teams
- Experience in analysing quality and performance data, preparing high quality reports and communicating insights in a clear and actionable way
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds including First Nations, CALD and LGBTIQ+ communities
- Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems and exercise initiative and judgment where practices and procedures are not clearly defined
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, client management systems and quality management systems
