At Downes Wholesale Nursery, we have been growing and supplying premium plant stock to top-tier commercial landscapers, councils, and property developers for decades. We are on the lookout for a professional, reliable, and active Medium Rigid (MR) Delivery Driver to join our team.
The Role
As our Delivery Driver, you are far more than just a steering wheel attendant—you are the face of our company on the ground. Operating out of our beautiful Theresa Park facility, you will ensure our high-quality plants arrive safely, on time, and in pristine commercial condition to clients across the Sydney metropolitan area and surrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Deliveries: Execute multi-drop transport runs efficiently across Sydney, the Southern Highlands, the Central Coast, Wollongong, and surrounding regions.
- Loading & Unloading: Safely handle, load, secure, and unload premium plant stock (ranging from small pots to mature trees) to prevent transit damage.
- Customer Service Excellence: Interact professionally with landscape site managers and clients at drop-off points to maintain our strong brand reputation.
About You
You take pride in your driving record, love an active workday outdoors, and have a positive "can-do" attitude when dealing with customers.
Essential Criteria:
- Licencing: A current, valid Australian Medium Rigid (MR) Licence (or higher).
- Physical Fitness: You must be fit, healthy, and energetic. This is a highly active role that involves heavy lifting and manual handling of green assets.
- Local Knowledge: A good navigational layout of Sydney and its surrounds to ensure you can beat traffic and hit delivery windows.
- Experience: Prior experience handling multi-drop commercial delivery runs is highly regarded.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with onsite clients and nursery dispatch teams.
