As a Senior Coastal Engineer in our Brisbane office, you support the technical design, delivery and inspection of our Coastal work. You will work with other Coastal professionals regionally. As a senior engineer, you will also be expected to lead our junior staff in the preparation of coastal studies and designs.
- You will provide technical project support.
- You will prepare designs for coastal structures including breakwaters, revetments, groynes etc, from initial concepts through to detailed designs.
- You will produce design calculations. Checking and reviewing calculations produced by others.
- You will produce sketch drawings and details for CAD drawings by others. Checking and reviewing of these prior to issue.
• You will prepare design/technical reports • You will prepare Specifications, Bills of Quantities and assistance with contract documents for construction projects.

As our new Senior Coastal Engineer, you will become part of our Water & Maritime team in Australia. The team delivers tailored engineering and scientific solutions across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific, specializing in maritime, coastal, riverine, and waterfront infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with highly skilled engineers and consultants on projects that support sustainable development and resilient communities.
You are a proactive and collaborative engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and working in multidisciplinary teams. You deliver high-quality work, communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, and are motivated to continue developing your expertise in maritime structural engineering.
- You have 5-10 years’ experience on civil engineering projects, ideally within the Coastal space
- You have a BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and be either Chartered or working towards chartership
- You have professional experience in planning and design of coastal structures / beach nourishment / scour protection
• You have commercial and technical management project skills, demonstrating commercial awareness • You are familiar with the concepts of numerical and physical modelling
