Western Cape College Boarding Campus is seeking a passionate Outdoor Education Teacher to join our team in Weipa, Far North Queensland. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through outdoor education, alternative learning programs and life-skills development in a unique boarding environment.
In this role, you will support student engagement, wellbeing and personal development through outdoor and experiential learning.
Key Responsibilities
Lead outdoor education programs, including camps, excursions and adventure-based activities.
Support students undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.
Coordinate alternative engagement programs for students who are suspended, disengaged or requiring flexible learning pathways.
Work with the Head of Learning and Transition, Boarding Teachers and support staff to meet students' wellbeing, behavioural and engagement needs.
Contribute to the Boarding to Beyond program, supporting career exploration, work readiness and life-skills development.
Develop practical, hands-on learning experiences that complement classroom learning.
Build students' resilience, teamwork and independence through outdoor learning.
Help maintain a safe, inclusive boarding environment and ensure activities meet safety and risk management requirements.

What You'll Need
Relevant teaching qualification
Full or provisional QCT registration
Australian working rights or a valid visa.
Experience in outdoor education, adventure-based learning or similar.
Knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (or willingness to learn).
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to thrive in a remote location.
