We are seeking an enthusiastic, industry-experienced Carpentry Trainer and Assessor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced carpenter who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople while working in a professional and supportive educational environment.

About the Role
As a Carpentry Trainer and Assessor you will:
- Deliver high-quality training and assessment for CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry.
- Prepare and deliver engaging classroom, workshop and practical training sessions.
- Assess student competency in accordance with the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.
- Support and mentor domestic and international students throughout their learning journey.
- Maintain accurate training, assessment and student records.
- Participate in assessment validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure training delivery complies with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025 and Alpha College policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the Academic and Compliance teams to maintain quality outcomes.
Essential Selection Criteria
Applicants must possess:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or recognised successor qualification).
- CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent or superseded recognised trade qualification.
- Minimum five (5) years' recent industry experience in carpentry or construction.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Current driver's licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one).
- Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain one).
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Highly regarded applicants may also possess:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Building and Construction.
- Additional construction industry qualifications or licences.
- Previous experience as an RTO Trainer and Assessor.
- Experience delivering training to international students.
- Knowledge of Australian vocational education and training (VET) requirements.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and student management systems.
