The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Tester to join a high-performing delivery team supporting critical payments and transactional banking platforms.
This is a hands-on role focused on validating end-to-end payment processing workflows across enterprise payment systems. You will work closely with business stakeholders, business analysts, developers, and QA teams to ensure business requirements are delivered accurately and payment solutions meet operational, regulatory, and customer expectations.
The ideal candidate will bring strong business testing experience within payments environments, along with a proven ability to validate complex payment flows, reconciliation processes, and transaction lifecycles across multiple systems.
Key Responsibilities
Review business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications relating to payment processing platforms.
Design and execute business test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
Perform Functional Testing, SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, End-to-End Testing, and Smoke Testing.
Validate payment processing workflows including domestic, international, real-time, high-value, recurring, and batch payments.
Verify the complete payment lifecycle from initiation through authorisation, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
Test payment exceptions, rejected transactions, reversals, cancellations, and refunds.
Perform reconciliation activities between payment platforms and downstream systems.
Log, track, and retest defects using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
Support production releases and post-implementation verification activities.
Collaborate with business users during UAT and support business sign-off processes.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, and testing status updates.
What You'll Need
Experience as a Business Tester, Test Analyst, UAT Tester, or QA Analyst within payments or banking environments.
Experience testing payment processing systems and transaction workflows.
Strong understanding of payment lifecycles, settlement, reconciliation, and payment exception handling.
Hands-on experience with Functional Testing, SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, and End-to-End Testing.
Experience creating and executing business-focused test scenarios and test cases.
Strong defect management experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery methods, and testing best practices.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience with domestic, international, real-time, or high-value payments.
Knowledge of payment gateways, payment networks, and settlement processes.
Exposure to reconciliation, reporting, and financial transaction validation.
Experience working within banking, financial services, or payments organisations.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance-driven systems.
Experience supporting large-scale transformation or migration programs.
