About the role
Reporting to the GM Infrastructure Operations Excellence, the Manager Infrastructure OE Performance Insights, Continuous Improvement, Governance and Assurance play a critical leadership role in providing independent oversight of Operational Excellence system performance across Infrastructure. The role enables informed, risk-based decision-making through robust performance insights, governance, assurance and continuous improvement frameworks, ensuring the effective management of risk, compliance and operational performance while driving organisational maturity and sustainable business outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Own the Infrastructure Operational Excellence performance, governance and assurance framework.
Establish decision-focused metrics, dashboards and reporting that provide a single source of truth for performance insights.
Translate data into actionable insights that drive early intervention
Develop the OE governance program, management rhythm and escalation pathway that drive accountability and continuous improvement
Align the Infrastructure OE reporting, governance, assurance activities with Group expectations.
Develop and execute OE assurance program across Infrastructure
Deliver independent assurance of OE system effectiveness, control performance and regulatory compliance.
Identify systemic weaknesses and drive targeted improvement actions
Lead incident investigations for chosen high consequences/high potential events
Build capability across broader Infrastructure business and ensure lessons learned are integrated into standards and practices
Partner with Group and Infrastructure stakeholders to strengthen governance, assurance, reporting and continuous improvement practices.
Key skills and experience
Masters degree or equivalent level in Work, Health and Safety or related discipline
Demonstrated extensive experience and deep level of understanding across complex infrastructure or high risk, heavy industrial environments such as mineral processing, oil and gas or power generation, with extensive understanding of operational risk and safety challenges.
Demonstrated managerial level experience in planning, managing, organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework
Advanced capability in data-led decision making and performance improvement
