Tangentyere Council is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Town Camps and Central Australia.
First incorporated in 1979, the organisation was a finalist in the 2016 Reconciliation Australia, Indigenous Governance Awards and is one of the 10 largest Aboriginal Corporations in Australia.

Early Childhood Education Educator
Level: 5.1
Salary: $99.741 per annum/pro rata
Status: Part Time 12 Month Contract

Tangentyere Early Childhood Education (ECE) is an innovative and unique program that supports Aboriginal children and youth to achieve positive outcomes in education, safety, and wellbeing in the Alice Springs Greater Region.
The Early Childhood Educator will be part of a small, dynamic team tasked with improving access to Early Childhood Education (ECE) for children in the 0-5-year-old age group living on Town Camps. The program supports both children and their parents and carers to receive a positive start to their child’s education journey.
The ECE Educator position will work closely with the ECE Coordinator alongside community to help develop and deliver playgroups to support Aboriginal families and children in Town Camp communities to feel safe and connected to ECE and understand the importance of early childhood development. The ECE Educator will work with other Tangentyere programs and approved external agencies to ensure highly integrated practice and increased parental participation in the crucial area of school readiness.
To be successful in this role you will have sound knowledge of ECE pedagogies, EYL Framework and be able to apply these responsively within Town Camps.
