You have the right to cease or direct cessation of unsafe work. In addition, you are required
at all times to comply with Councils Asbestos Management Plan and Policy.
COMMUNICATION
The position involves communication, verbal and written, at all levels within the OCEO,
across the Council, government agencies, businesses and with the community in relation
to the business and operations OCEO and council project teams. Well-developed verbal
and written communication skills are required, as are strong negotiation skills to assist in
the resolution of challenging problems.
JUDGEMENT & PROBLEM SOLVING
A degree of independence and autonomy is required in making decisions in relation to
work priorities within agreed projects and guidelines. Judgement and problem-solving
skills are utilised to initiate change and improve work processes and to assess a number
of options for continuous improvement.
AUTHORITY
The position is required to be able to assess and remedy or refer to the day-to-day
problems that arise pertaining to projects. The position is required to complete work that
has various levels of complexity.
The position incurs operating and capital expenditure on behalf of Council in accordance
with budget to the value of $500.
SKILL, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
Essential:
- High-level organisational and administrative skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience of applying project, administrative, business, budgeting
and planning skills in a complex work environment.
- Proven ability to support the planning, management and delivery of projects
including contract management.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team and
gain the co-operation from a wide range of individuals.
- Well-developed written skills with demonstrated ability to prepare memos, reports,
presentations, agendas and minutes.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high-level customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, work under pressure, handle multiple tasks and
meet deadlines.
- High-level experience with information technology and, in particular with Microsoft
Office including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and project
management software.
