About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for nurses with Recovery or ICU/HDU nursing skill to lead the way internationally in a new model of care which reduces the number of post-operative complications, leading to reduced LOS and readmission to hospital. Patients in ARRC have an overnight stay with 1:2 nursing ratio and regular anaesthesia reviews to intervene immediately should deterioration occur; they are then discharged to their home ward in the morning or to ICU if the patient remains unstable.
RN1 - Seeking experienced Recovery/ICU Registered Nurses classified at this level to provide nursing services within the Advanced Recovery Room Care setting. Employees working within this level develop from novice practitioners to a proficient level of professional practice. They consolidate knowledge and skills and develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience. An employee at this level accepts accountability for his or her own standards of nursing/midwifery care and for activities delegated to others.
RN 2 - Employees working within this level are very experienced Recovery/ICU nurses and they have been consolidated their experience with further study. Staff at this level developed from competent to proficient practitioners. Accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. The Clinical Nurse role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however, employees are assigned appropriate portfolio related to the perioperative setting. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan. The Clinical Nurse demonstrates advanced practice within the specialised field of employment. The Clinical Nurse has a high level of understanding within their chosen specialty.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Registered Nurse who demonstrates a passion for delivering high-quality, client-focused care. You will bring the following qualities and skills to the role:
Registered Nurse with current practising certificate: Must be registered with the Nursing Board of Australia or eligible for registration.
Effective communicator and team player: Strong skills in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to continuous improvement: Passionate about professional development and providing innovative, flexible care solutions.
Competent and knowledgeable: Sound understanding of nursing practice, relevant legislation, and quality improvement systems in a healthcare setting.
