About the Role:
Sydney is a growing hub for creative technology and media innovation, and at Omy Camis Audio Pty Ltd, we bring that same standard of excellence into professional audio engineering and sound technology. We develop and deliver high-quality audio production systems, studio workflows, and digital sound solutions that bridge creativity and technical precision.
We are looking for a Head of Audio Engineering (Senior Audio Engineer / Audio Technical Lead) who can take full ownership of our audio engineering direction. This is not just a production role—you will define our audio quality standards, engineering workflows, and technical sound strategy across all projects.
You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, working closely with production, creative, and technical stakeholders to ensure every audio output meets broadcast-grade and studio-quality standards. You will act as the key bridge between creative intent and technical execution, ensuring clarity, consistency, and excellence in every stage of production.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
We operate in a modern, collaborative production environment in Sydney. Our focus is high-quality output, clean workflows, and a culture that values technical precision as much as creative expression.
Technical Leadership:
This is a decision-making role from day one. You will define audio engineering standards, approve workflows, and influence the direction of our production systems.
Modern Audio Stack:
We work with industry-standard digital audio workstations (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton) and integrate modern audio processing tools and systems. Our workflows are designed for scalability, clarity, and high-performance production.
Growth & Influence:
You will have access to training opportunities, industry events, and budget for professional development in audio engineering, sound design, and production technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Audio Engineering Leadership:
Define and maintain high-level audio engineering standards across all production environments, ensuring consistency and broadcast-quality output.
End-to-End Audio Production:
Oversee the full audio pipeline—from recording, editing, mixing, mastering, to final delivery across studio and digital platforms.
Team Leadership & Mentoring:
Lead and support a team of audio engineers. Conduct reviews, provide technical guidance, and help develop their engineering skills and production quality.
Technical Workflow Development:
Design and improve audio workflows, signal chains, and production systems to increase efficiency and output quality.
Quality Control:
Ensure all audio outputs meet internal standards for clarity, balance, loudness, and technical compliance across platforms.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with production teams, developers, and management to align technical execution with project goals and creative direction.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
8+ years of experience in audio engineering, sound production, broadcast audio, or studio environments, with leadership or senior technical responsibility.
Technical Expertise:
Strong experience in professional DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live. Solid understanding of mixing, mastering, acoustics, and signal processing.
Leadership Ability:
Experience mentoring or leading engineers or production teams, with the ability to maintain high technical standards across projects.
Portfolio / Experience Proof:
Demonstrated experience working on professional audio projects (studio, broadcast, live production, or media systems).
Mindset:
You are detail-oriented and quality-driven, but also pragmatic. You understand when to refine and when to deliver efficiently. You care about both the technical accuracy and the final listening experience.
