Our client, Cloves Fine Indian Restaurant, is seeking a skilled Cook to join their kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes, assisting with food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Located in Balwyn, Victoria, Cloves Fine Indian Restaurant is a full-service restaurant specialising in authentic Indian cuisine, offering quality dine-in and takeaway services in a professional and customer-focused environment. The annual salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Examining food ingredients and supplies to ensure freshness and quality.
· Preparing and cooking a range of Indian dishes in accordance with established recipes and kitchen procedures.
· Operating cooking equipment, including ovens, grills, cooktops, and tandoors safely and efficiently.
· Seasoning and portioning food during preparation and service.
· Plating meals and adding appropriate sauces, accompaniments, and garnishes before service.
· Storing food and ingredients in temperature-controlled facilities in line with food safety requirements.
· Assisting with food preparation and basic kitchen duties during busy service periods.
· Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
· Following workplace health, safety, and food handling procedures at all times.
· Assisting other kitchen staff to ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
· Relevant Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen environment in Australia.
Note: Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
