Job description:
Are you sick of finishing late? Tired of running behind and seeing a high quantity of patients over fewer good quality patients? Join us for a better work life balance.
Sunny Dental Buderim is looking for a warm, organised and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our growing team.
We are a caring dental practice under new ownership, with an exciting period of renewal and rejuvenation ahead. Our goal is to build a supportive, stable and positive workplace where each team member feels valued, confident and well supported in their role.
This position would suit someone who enjoys helping patients feel comfortable, takes pride in clinical care, and wants to be part of a practice that values quality over quantity.
About the role
As a Dental Assistant, you will support our dentists and patients throughout a wide range of general dental procedures. You will play an important role in helping each appointment run smoothly, safely and calmly.
Your duties may include:
- Chairside assisting for general dental procedures
- Preparing treatment rooms before appointments
- Cleaning and resetting rooms after appointments
- Supporting infection control and sterilisation processes
- Taking care of instruments, materials and clinical supplies
- Helping patients feel comfortable and reassured
- Supporting smooth patient flow throughout the day
- Communicating clearly with dentists, reception and other team members
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional clinical environment
What makes this role different
At Sunny Dental Buderim, we believe people do their best work when they are properly supported.
We are not looking for someone who has to do every job in the practice. We value team members becoming confident and excellent in their own role, rather than being stretched across reception, management and clinical duties all at once.
You will be supported by a dedicated, long-term Practice Manager who understands the daily running of a dental practice, as well as clinicians who value clear communication, proper systems and a respectful team environment.
A quality-over-quantity approach
One of our key points of difference is that we value longer appointment times to support thorough, comprehensive patient care.
This means appointments are planned with the aim of giving patients proper time, reducing unnecessary rushing, and helping the clinical team provide care in a calm and organised way. We pride ourselves on aiming to run on time and creating a smoother day for patients, dentists and support staff.
Our approach is simple: quality care, thoughtful scheduling and a team environment that does not rely on rushing people through.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, caring and professional
- Reliable and well organised
- Calm, patient and supportive with patients
- A good communicator
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Willing to learn and follow systems
- Comfortable working in a clinical environment
- Focused on patient care, safety and infection control
- Someone who takes pride in doing their role well
Dental assisting experience is highly valued, but we are also open to the right person with a great attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
Why join us?
- Supportive and caring team environment
- Dedicated long-term Practice Manager for guidance and support
- Clear role focus — we support you becoming great at dental assisting
- Longer appointment times that support comprehensive patient care
- Quality-over-quantity approach to dentistry
- A practice that values running on time and reducing unnecessary pressure
- Growing practice with increasing hour availability over time
- New ownership with a positive vision for the practice
- Opportunity to be part of the practice’s next stage of growth
- Friendly patient-focused workplace
- Stable, professional and respectful team culture
