About the Role
Aegis Health is seeking passionate and experienced Registered Nurses to join our innovative interdisciplinary mental health team within the Aegis Health Clinic, a 36-bed inpatient mental health unit located within Aegis Health Private Hospital.
This facility provides overnight admissions for patients requiring higher intensity treatment and care within a controlled and supportive environment. Our target population includes individuals experiencing mental health conditions requiring voluntary support, including those with comorbid alcohol and drug issues.
We are looking for nursing professionals who are passionate about mental health care and committed to delivering patient-centred, recovery-focused care.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred mental health nursing care
- Support the delivery of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team
- Assist in developing and implementing individualised care plans
- Facilitate group-based therapeutic and recovery-focused programs
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and team members
- Contribute to a safe, compassionate, and recovery-focused environment
- Participate in continuous improvement, education, and professional development initiatives
Essential Skills & Experience
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum two years’ experience working within the mental health sector preferred
- Strong knowledge and experience in mental health nursing practices
- Training and/or experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and/or Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Commitment to patient-centred and integrated care approaches
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- A passion for continuous learning and professional growth
- Empathy, authenticity, and compassion in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges
