We are seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher with Senior Chemistry expertise to join our team on a temporary basis in 2027. The successful applicant will play an important role in delivering high-quality online learning across senior secondary science subjects, with a focus on Chemistry Years 11-12.
Experience teaching Senior Physics and/or Senior Psychology would be highly regarded as an additional teaching area. Applicants without a second senior science subject will also be considered and would support delivery of Junior Secondary Science (Years 8-10).
As CSDE staff are required to work onsite, the successful applicant will need to reside in the Cairns area.

Has strong curriculum knowledge and experience delivering Science aligned with the Australian Curriculum Version 9 and QCAA Senior Syllabi.
Can design engaging lessons, assessments, and learning experiences suited to an online learning environment.
Has excellent communication skills and can build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues virtually.
Is adaptable and able to respond to diverse student needs and learning contexts.
Is confident using digital platforms, online learning systems, and technology to enhance student engagement.
