Summary:
The HSEQT Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, environmental, quality, and training standards within our regional mining and mining service operations from our office in West Perth, Australia. This position is essential for maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of safety and excellence across the organisation. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to enhance operational performance while minimising risks and promoting sustainable practices.
HSEQT Strategy & Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and Training (HSEQT) frameworks across all Macro Metals operations. Ensure alignment with legislative, industry, and company standards, maintaining compliance across all operational sites. Lead the HSEQT function, driving a proactive safety, quality, and risk management culture throughout the organisation. Maintain and update internal policies and frameworks, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications. Stay up to date with changes in legislation, industry best practices, and compliance requirements, ensuring Macro Metals remains at the forefront of regulatory and operational excellence.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Provide expert HSEQT leadership, direction, and guidance to senior management, site teams, and contractors. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, regulators, and contractors. Act as the key liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring Macro Metals meets all environmental, safety, and quality obligations. Coach and mentor employees at all levels in critical HSEQT areas, including risk management, process controls, and continuous improvement. Lead cultural change initiatives that reinforce a proactive approach to safety, environmental responsibility, and quality excellence.
Audits, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Develop, implement, and manage an internal audit and compliance program, ensuring regular assessment of HSEQT performance across all sites. Monitor, analyse, and report on HSEQT performance metrics, providing data-driven insights and recommendations. Support and lead investigations into safety incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, embedding best practices into operational safety, quality management, and training programs. Oversee document control and reporting processes, ensuring all HSEQT records are accurate, up to date, and audit-ready.
Site Implementation & Risk Management
Conduct site visits and inspections, ensuring HSEQT systems are embedded in daily operations. Lead site establishment activities, ensuring all operational locations meet company and regulatory safety and quality requirements. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across safety, environmental, and quality management, ensuring operational excellence. Develop and implement risk management strategies, ensuring hazards are proactively identified and controlled.
Training & Safety Programs
Develop and deliver HSEQT training programs, ensuring employees meet safety and compliance requirements. Oversee the implementation of Safety Management Plans, ensuring all employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools. Ensure competency frameworks and verification of competency (VOC) processes are established and maintained across all operations. Support external OH&S and Quality audits, preparing teams and ensuring compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (H&S, Engineering, Business), or similar
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA)
- Graduate Certificate in Risk Management, or similar
- Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) Certification
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in HSEQT management within the mining or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of Australian health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
