The Role
We are seeking an experienced OT Engineer to join our Operational Technology team. In this role you will support and enhance critical Operational Technology (OT) platforms that underpin the operation of essential infrastructure assets, helping ensure reliability, performance, security and continuous improvement across our network.
Reporting to the Operational Technology leadership team, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining critical OT systems including SCADA, IoT platforms and Operational Historian environments. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of industrial control systems, IoT, data analytics and emerging technologies in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment
You will work closely with operational stakeholders, field technicians, engineers and technology teams to ensure systems remain available, secure and fit for purpose while identifying opportunities to improve performance through automation, analytics and innovation.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain Operational Technology systems including SCADA, IoT Device Management Platforms, Operational Historian and related applications.
- Monitor system performance, investigate issues and resolve incidents to maintain service levels and application availability.
- Analyse, diagnose and rectify OT and IoT-related faults and technical issues.
- Support the ongoing reliability and performance of SCADA environments and associated communications networks.
- Assist with integrating new assets into SCADA and Historian platforms.
- Support data quality, asset frameworks, reporting and analytics within Operational Historian environments.
- Develop and maintain scripts, automation solutions and data models.
- Build time-series analytics dashboards that provide insights into asset and network performance.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and contribute to project scopes, designs and business cases.
- Collaborate with operational, engineering and technology teams to deliver business improvements and innovative use cases.
- Support cybersecurity and compliance requirements within the Operational Technology environment.
What we’re Looking for
To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking and a passion for operational technology.

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.

Experience supporting Operational Technology, SCADA, Industrial Control Systems or related environments.

Strong scripting skills, particularly in Python, JavaScript and/or Visual Basic.

Knowledge of IoT technologies, sensors and connected devices.

Experience working with databases, data management and system integrations.

Understanding of industrial communications networks and control systems.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on innovation and service excellence.
Highly Regarded:
-
Experience with Aveva EcoStruxure Geo SCADA Expert (ClearSCADA).

Exposure to Aveva OSI PI Historian or similar Operational Historian platforms.

Experience with application integration technologies such as MuleSoft.

Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and requirements within Operational Technology environments.

Experience working with water, utilities, energy, manufacturing or other critical infrastructure sectors.
