If you're 3-5 years into your finance or commercial career and ready to step up into something with genuine impact, read on.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be the guardian of commercial insight for the NZ Sugar business. You'll build and own the reporting infrastructure - from daily sales dashboards to monthly forecasts - and make sure our leaders always have the facts they need to act with confidence.
This isn't a back-office number-crunching role. You'll be embedded in the heart of the commercial operation, partnering across the business to deliver expert analysis that drive real commercial outcomes.
What You’ll Own:
- Build and manage best-in-class dashboards and reports - from CEO-level views to sales tools - using Power BI and Tableau
- Deliver clear, insightful commentary on performance variances, demand trends, promo analysis and rebate accruals.
- Lead financial forecasting and support month-end processes using Blueshift, ensuring data integrity across large, complex datasets.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to the Sales function, lifting commercial acumen and supporting better business decisions across the team.
- Drive Power BI and Tableau adoption across the business - building capability so teams stop relying on manual reports.
- Own budget and S&OP financial inputs, partnering with Sales and Supply Chain to make planning robust and audit-ready
- Develop costing models, tender models and business cases that directly influence commercial decisions, in collaboration with the Management Accountant.
What you’ll bring:
You're not the type to wait to be told what to look at. You spot the story in the data before anyone asks for it. You bring energy to the numbers, and you know how to communicate insight in a way that actually lands with a sales team or a CEO.
- 3-5 years' experience in a commercial finance, FP&A or business analyst role - ideally in FMCG, retail or manufacturing.
- Genuinely advanced Excel skills, plus hands-on experience with Power BI and/or Tableau
- Solid grounding in core accounting - P&L, Balance Sheet, General Ledger - with real experience posting month-end journals
- A track record in forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis that goes beyond the basics
- Natural communicator who can translate financial complexity into actionable business insight
- High-energy, collaborative style with the confidence to challenge, the humility to listen, and the drive to deliver
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
- Eligible to work in New Zealand immediately
