Business Bank (BB) offer a wide range of services and solutions to our small to medium, enterprise customers and our regional and agribusiness customers. The Business Lending team supports the full spectrum of business customers’ borrowing needs, from small business customers to large mid-market corporates. Commercial Lending products range from high volume / low complexity offerings through to low volume / high complexity offerings.
Business Lending (BL) is a product and specialised sales team that offers working capital, business loans, asset finance, corporate finance, and property finance to our customers. It also has responsibility for Line 1 risk and controls for these products. BL is directly responsible for product management, process management, portfolio and pricing management. It also works closely with bankers, data and analytics, digital and customer experience teams.
Asset Finance manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions to support their equipment and broader asset financing needs. It also services our institutional customers requiring asset finance. Asset Finance (AF) is an end to end product, operations, credit and specialised sales team that provides finance (leasing, equipment, hire purchase) to our customers. It also has responsibility for Line 1 risk and controls for these products. AF is directly responsible for product management, process management, portfolio and pricing management and arrears and financial difficulty management. It also works closely with bankers, data and analytics, digital and customer experience teams across Asset Finance and broader business bank.
Do work that matters
As a Senior Product Manager, you will be part of the Product Chapter and work within the Asset Finance Crew. You will be responsible for leading key strategic, growth initiatives. You will also be responsible for monitoring product performance, delivering continuous improvement and risk buy-down initiatives and ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations. You will move forward with less-than-perfect information and quickly pivot to respond to new information and trends. You will work constructively with others and partner with stakeholders to deliver objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Analysing the external market, product portfolio and customers to assess trends to recommend changes to improve performance and influence the product roadmap
- Reviewing customer pain-points across the product life cycle to identify and deliver customer experience improvement opportunities.
- Planning and leading the promotional efforts for new or enhanced product features or processes, including both internal and external marketing, communication and training, and relationship building activities.
- Monitoring business results of recently introduced or enhanced processes and recommending modifications in product features, process, and marketing approaches to improve results and embed take up against key objectives.
- Accountable for continued monitoring and proactive improvements of the end-to-end product risk and control environment. This includes robust product governance, identification of issues, escalation and swift resolution.
- Work through ambiguity and use judgement to review competing priorities.
- Drive superior results for customers and CBA and contribute to creating a high-performance culture within the team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the product value chain e.g. Distribution Teams, Digital, Compliance, Risk, Technology and Finance, to ensure efficient delivery of strategic initiatives and resolution of issues.
We want to hear from you if you have
- Demonstrated Product Management experience (5+ years) in financial services with proven all-round product management skills (project delivery and agile experience, productivity, portfolio monitoring, operational and credit risk experience)
- A Customer obsessed mindset, with the ability to design solutions through a deep understanding of the needs of business lending customers
- Deep understanding of the end-to-end business lending process and credit policy
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience writing high quality papers (FRC, NFRC, PGF major, concept, in life review) and delivering updates to leadership and governance forums is desirable.
- Advanced stakeholder management skills with a proven record of influencing senior leadership across Product, Distribution and Risk Management.
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities – need to have the motivation and be comfortable with investigating and providing recommended options/solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deliverables concurrently.
- Analytical mindset- need to be comfortable working with multiple data sources and generating relevant business insights and data backed recommendations to improve performance and customer experience.
