Our 24/7 veterinary hospital is seeking a confident, capable HR Manager to lead our people function and support a team of 60 dedicated practitioners, nurses, receptionists and support staff.
This is a pivotal leadership role where your expertise will directly shape culture, engagement, workforce stability and operational excellence.
About the Role
As our HR Manager, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle and provide strategic and operational HR support across the hospital. You’ll partner closely with the leadership team to ensure our people, processes and culture are aligned with best practice and the needs of a 24/7 clinical environment. Due to the significant growth across our Veterinary hospital, we are introducing this new HR Manager position to support our principal and managers and elevate our people culture and operational capability.
Your responsibilities will include:
- End‑to‑end HR management across a diverse shift workforce
- Assistance with recruitment and onboarding of clinical and non‑clinical staff
- Workforce planning, rostering support and retention strategies
- Performance management, coaching and ER/IR case management
- Policy development, compliance and Fair Work obligations
- OHS oversight in partnership with the Practice Manager, Clinical Manager and Principal
- Culture, engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- Training coordination and leadership development
- Supporting leaders with practical, hands-on, timely HR advice
About You
You are a confident and competent HR professional with strong judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly. You enjoy being hands‑on, collaborating with your team, solving problems and supporting people in a high‑care, high‑emotion environment.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor
- Strong ER/IR capability and Fair Work knowledge
- Experience in healthcare, veterinary, shift‑based or 24/7 operations (highly regarded)
- Ability to manage competing priorities with calm and clarity
- A warm, professional and approachable style
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

- 11:00am – 3:00pm
Salary
$110,000–$140,000 + super (pro-rata for part time), commensurate with experience and scope.
