A Workshop Mechanic at Austral Construction is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy construction and mining equipment in the workshop, and sometimes attending field breakdowns.
Typical duties include:
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
Repairing and overhauling heavy machinery and equipment.
Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
Rebuilding components and testing equipment after repairs.
Following safety procedures and maintaining workshop standards.
Completing maintenance records and reports.
Typical requirements:
Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or Hydraulic Fitter.
At least 5 years of post-trade experience.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Current driver's licence (HR licence preferred).
White Card and relevant tickets (forklift, dogging, rigging, crane) are advantageous.
Pay: $12,000.00 – $15,000.00 per month
