Join our team
The Workplace Technology team is responsible for the technology experiences our team members interact with every day. From collaboration spaces and meeting rooms through to workplace applications and office technology, we help create environments where people can do their best work.
We're looking for an Engineer who enjoys working with people as much as technology. This is a highly visible role that partners with team members across Kmart and Target, helping them understand, adopt, and get value from the tools and services available to them.
You'll become a key ambassador for Workplace Technology, working closely with stakeholders at all levels to improve workplace experiences, champion new capabilities, and ensure our technology solutions are delivering meaningful outcomes for the people who use them. While technical capability is important, success in this role is built on communication, curiosity, and the ability to connect with people.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as a trusted partner and visible advocate for Workplace Technology across the business.
- Building strong relationships with team members and helping them understand the value of workplace technology solutions.
- Driving adoption of workplace tools and platforms.
- Facilitating group demonstrations, information sessions, and stakeholder engagements to showcase new capabilities and gather feedback.
- Identifying opportunities to improve technology experiences and translating user feedback into practical improvements.
- Supporting the rollout and ongoing success of workplace technology initiatives across our offices and support environments.
- Working closely with Workplace Services, Technology teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes.
- Providing technical guidance and support while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience.
- Helping shape the future workplace experience through continuous improvement and innovation.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Experience in workplace technology, end-user computing, systems engineering, or a similar technology-focused role.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across a broad range of audiences.
- Confidence presenting to groups, running demonstrations, and explaining technology in simple, practical language.
- A genuine interest in understanding how people work and how technology can improve their day-to-day experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical considerations with customer needs.
- A proactive approach and willingness to seek out opportunities for improvement rather than waiting for them to be raised.
- Experience supporting or championing workplace technology, collaboration tools, digital workplace platforms, or end-user services is highly regarded.
- Technical exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, workplace applications, device management, or modern workplace technologies is advantageous.
Perks and benefits we’ll offer you:
- Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy, spending 60% of your week in our National Office
- We’ll provide multiple ways for you to learn from online micro-credentialing in Udemy, support to gain certifications to tech community events and more.
- Great career opportunities across the broader Wesfarmers Group.
- We offer inclusive leave and ongoing support for team members of all backgrounds and family circumstances.
- Free onsite parking when you’re required to come into the office.
- We want you to feel rewarded for your commitment and hard work that's why everyone gets the opportunity to participate in a bonus program.
- A team member discount card that gives you a discount at Kmart, Target, Bunnings, and Officeworks.
- A free OnePass membership offering free delivery across Kmart & Target on eligible products.
- Access to the Brighter Benefits program which entitles you to exclusive discounts and benefits in the areas of entertainment, travel, lifestyle, and health – with over 60 suppliers!
- Reflection room, space for prayer, meditation, or time for yourself.
