About the Mental Health Service
The Mental Health Service in Sydney Local Health District is a district-wide service across three large inpatient facilities (Concord Centre for Mental Health, Professor Marie Bashir Centre, Thomas Walker Hospital) and five community health centres.
The Mental Health Service provides a comprehensive range of specialist services across the continuum of care, including adolescent mental health, perinatal and infant mental health, eating disorders, rehabilitation, acute inpatient care, forensic mental health, and psychogeriatric services.
The Pharmacy Service within Mental Health is an award-winning and forward-thinking department committed to delivering exceptional consumer care and advancing pharmacy practice. Recognised with the NSW Team Innovation Award 2026, the team is at the forefront of clinical innovation, including the implementation of Pharmacist Partnered Medication Charting (PPMC). Pharmacists work closely within multidisciplinary teams, attending case reviews, conducting medication histories and clinical medication reviews, and providing pharmacist-led consumer education and consultation services.
Ideal Candidate
- Current Pharmacist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and able to practice independently.
- Grade 2 Pharmacists must meet the criteria set out in the Award and are expected to be able to demonstrate continual ability to meet three of the five competencies within the Award.
- Ability to apply current and good practical therapeutic knowledge in a clinical environment.
