About the Team
The Oncology Services Group is a multi-professional group and includes the Oncology Service, Blood and Marrow Transplant Service, Haematology Service and the Paediatric Palliative Care Service, It also includes the Queensland Paediatric Palliative Care, Haematology and Oncology Network (QPPHON), a sub-network of the Statewide Child and Youth Network. The Oncology Service has dedicated consultant teams focusing on Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Bone Marrow Transplant; Solid Tumours and Neuro-oncology; Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and non-malignant Haematology. Consultant medical staff are supported by junior and middle-grade medical staff, including specialist training fellows in paediatric oncology.
About the Role
The Paediatric Advanced Trainee (in the role of Paediatric Oncology Fellow) will:
Have the opportunity to work with the teams below:
Bone Marrow Transplant & Leukaemia / Lymphoma Stream
AND/OR
Neuro-Oncology & Solid Tumour Stream
Deliver medical services through participation in clinical duties at Fellow level and in accordance with the policies, practices and Values of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
Demonstrate commitment to evidence-based practice, research and quality improvement activities, including morbidity and mortality meetings and other clinical audits and clinical risk management activities.
Assist in the professional development of junior medical staff and the training of medical and allied health students.
Participate in an active teaching program, including Oncology Advanced Trainee teaching, and research activities leading to conference presentations and publications
