THE PROGRAM
Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program offers free, non-clinical, community-based mental health support to people living with a severe mental illness in regional areas. We support recovery for people whose mental health is impacting their daily life. The program is voluntary and can be accessed via a self, or a third-party referral.
THE ROLE
Join CObH as a CPSP Support Coordinator and make a real difference in people’s lives. You’ll work one-on-one with clients, in person or over the phone, helping them set personal goals and connect with the right supports to achieve them.
You’ll help clients develop practical strategies and skills tailored to their individual goals. This may include:
- Accessing education and vocational training
- Money and budgeting support, including linking to financial services
- Building connections and a sense of belonging within the local community
- Linking with other support services for housing, employment, and wellbeing
- Supporting both mental and physical health, including making beneficial referrals
Throughout the 12-week support period, you’ll maintain ongoing communication to ensure goals are regularly reviewed, updated, and achieved. All client interactions and progress are documented using a CRM and database.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who is organised, flexible, and solutions and recovery-focused, with experience in a client focused field including case management. You must have the ability to multitask and meet deadlines including key performance indicators. You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience in client facing roles, comfortable following organisational policy and procedures, writing reports and solid IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and familiarity with CRMs.
You value confidentiality, understand the needs of diverse populations, understand and share CObH’s mission and values. Experience and qualifications in community services or equivalent.
- Certificate IV or above in Mental Health, Disability Studies, Community Services or related discipline
- Experience supporting clients in a health or community services setting using a compassionate, person-centred approach
- Excellent communication skills and a caring approach when supporting clients, families, friends, and carers, especially in times of distress
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build respectful relationships with other service providers
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills to provide practical, timely support to clients and their families
WHAT’S ON OFFER
- 5 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading
- 12 days paid personal leave plus cultural and wellness leave
- Salary range: $ 84,813 - $90,879 per year (pro-rata for part time)
