A small electronics manufacturer in the southern Sydney / St George area is seeking an experienced hand-solderer for ongoing contract assembly work.
You'll assemble printed circuit boards, finished products and cable looms from our home-based workshop. All tools and equipment are supplied. Some cable assembly work can be taken home if preferred.
About the work
- Hand soldering of PCBs, including small SMD components down to 0603 size
- Product assembly and testing
- Cable and loom assembly
About you
- Proven hand-soldering experience, ideally with fine-pitch SMD work
- Careful, consistent and reliable, with an eye for quality
- Able to work independently from written procedures
- Hold (or willing to obtain) an ABN — this is contract work invoiced to us
The arrangement
- Assembly paid at an hourly rate; cable assembly paid per piece
- Rate negotiable based on experience (indicative $50–55/hr for assembly work)
- Flexible hours to suit both parties
- Ongoing work for the right person
To apply, click Apply or send a short message outlining your relevant experience.
A few Seek-specific notes:
- Classification — list it under Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics → Assembly & Process Work, or Trades & Services → Technicians. The first pulls more assembly candidates.
- Work type — set to Contract/Temp so it's clear upfront and you don't get PAYG-expecting applicants.
- Rate line — I included the $45–$55 indication since Seek ads with a rate get noticeably more quality applicants. If you'd rather keep it private, delete that bullet and it still reads fine.
- Location — Seek asks for a suburb; you can enter a nearby one (e.g. Rockdale or Kogarah) without pinning your exact address, then share specifics with shortlisted people.
Want me to write the per-piece cable rate into this once we work out a sensible figure, or leave the cable pricing to discuss privately with applicants?
Pay: $45.00 – $55.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sans Souci NSW 2219
