Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensice experience in software development, ideally across Windows-based virtual environments and Linux-based systems.
- Experience developing software for Linux operating systems, including customising, administering and hardening Linux servers and applications.
- Experience automating and scripting application installation, customisation and configuration activities.
- Experience developing and maintaining Linux standard operating environment images, technical documentation and system support artefacts.
Exposure to DevOps methodologies, with the ability to provide technical advice aligned to broader business and capability requirements.

Experience with deployable communication and information systems, systems engineering processes, the Defence Capability Lifecycle, agile project management, Ansible scripting, OpenStack or Windows SOE development will be highly regarded.
Due to the nature of the work, the successful applicant must hold and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance, as required by the Commonwealth. In some cases, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may also be required.
