Cheltenham Girls’ High School, with an enrolment of 1400 students, including 69% of students from a non-English speaking background, is a leading comprehensive girls' school with strong traditions. The classroom teacher will work with a dedicated faculty team to plan and deliver effective teaching and learning. They will participate in whole-school professional learning to support continuous improvement in student growth and attainment, develop expertise in pedagogy, and build relationships with students and the wider community to foster strong partnerships for learning.
1. Approval to teach English 7-12, including Extension 1 and 2.
2. Demonstrated capacity to inspire and challenge motivated learners through the delivery of rigorous, differentiated and engaging English programs that promote achievement and critical thinking.
3. Demonstrated organisational skills to manage deadlines for a variety of stakeholders, including analysing school-based and external data to inform improved teaching and learning practices, providing feedback, marking and reporting.
4. Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal and communication skills that build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents while supporting student wellbeing and engagement.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
