Requirements: New Shakthi Restaurant now seeks to recruit a qualified Cook who is keen to demonstrate and develop his/her skills in a dynamic kitchen environment. Key tasks include:
- Washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits & vegetables to prepare them for consumption;
- Carving and trimming foods to ready them for different dishes;
- Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes & personal judgment;
- Regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters;
- Seasoning and cooking foods according to recipes & personal judgment;
- Turning & stirring foods to ensure even cooking;
- Observing and testing foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently;
- Portioning, arranging, and garnishing dishes, and passing them to wait-staff for service;
- Estimating food requirements and storing foods in temperature controlled facilities;
- Minimising food wastage and maintaining excellent hygiene standards;
- Assisting in training other kitchen staff where required.
