IMI ENTERPRISE PTY LTD trading as ZURI is a contemporary Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant located in Wellington Point, offering authentic Turkish cuisine with a modern Australian influence. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our busy kitchen team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, including charcoal grilled meats, seafood, meze, pides and signature menu items.
- Plan and organise food preparation to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Assist with menu development by introducing seasonal dishes and authentic Turkish flavours.
- Monitor food quality, freshness and stock rotation.
- Order food supplies and manage inventory to minimise waste.
- Supervise and assist kitchen staff during service.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen at all times.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff where required.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality or equivalent qualification.
- At least 1 year of relevant full-time post-qualification experience as a Chef
- Experience preparing authentic Turkish, Mediterranean or Middle Eastern cuisine in a busy commercial kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of charcoal grilling techniques, traditional Turkish cooking methods and food presentation.
- Sound understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Employment Details
- Full-time permanent position.
- Salary: $75,000 to $81,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays is essential.
