The Aged Care Food Services Floor Coordinator oversees and provides hospitality services to residents in a timely, courteous and hygienic manner in accordance with dietary requirements and food preferences and undertakes the provision of food services in accordance with the Barwon Health Food Safety Plan, Aged Care Quality Standards, and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
They provide Barwon Health Residential Aged Care with a single point of contact for all matters relating to Aged Care Food Services seven days a week.
- Coordinate and oversee daily aged care food service operations, including meal preparation, meal distribution, food-on-demand services, and resident dietary support in line with IDDSI and nutritional requirements.
- Lead and support food services staff by allocating resources, monitoring performance, providing guidance, and maintaining high standards of customer service, teamwork, and resident-centred care.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, infection control, OH&S, and Barwon Health policies by maintaining clean and safe food preparation, dining, and storage environments and reporting incidents through appropriate systems.
- Manage operational quality and service delivery by maintaining supplies and equipment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, responding to resident needs, and liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient aged care food services.
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate with demonstrated experience working within regulated healthcare, hospitality, or aged care environments.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing large teams, including staff rostering, performance management, and working within Enterprise Agreement frameworks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with older persons, people living with dementia, diverse communities, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work within established procedures while leading teams, maintaining operational standards, and applying knowledge of food safety, waste management, and continuous improvement practices.
