The successful applicant will initially be employed on a casual basis, with a view to permanent full time employment for the right person.

We are a Melbourne based dry food milling and blending business supplying ingredients to food manufacturers and other commercial customers.
We are looking for a reliable and practical person to join our team in a hands on food production role.
Experience in food manufacturing, machinery operation or warehousing would be helpful, but is not essential. We are prepared to train the right applicant.
The most important qualities are reliability, physical fitness, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to follow instructions and work safely.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with dry food production, milling, sieving and blending work
- Help set up and clean down machinery and production areas
- Pack finished products into bags and containers
- Stack and palletise finished products
- Lift and handle bags weighing between 10kg and 25kg
- Keep production and warehouse areas clean and organised
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries and collections
- Use a forklift if licensed and trained
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
- Complete basic production records and job documentation
- Use email, mobile phone photos and basic computer systems as part of daily work
- Assist with general factory and warehouse duties as required
Skills and Experience
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling
- Able to follow instructions and procedures
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment
- Willing to learn machinery, production and food safety processes
- Basic computer, email and mobile phone skills
- Forklift licence would be highly regarded but is not essential
- Previous experience in factory work, food production, warehousing, packing or labouring would be an advantage
Physical Requirements
This is an active and physically demanding role.
Applicants must be comfortable with:
- Regular lifting and handling of bags weighing between 10kg and 25kg
- Stacking products onto pallets
- Standing for extended periods
- Bending, reaching and manual handling throughout the day
- Cleaning machinery and work areas
- Wearing required PPE
- Working around food ingredients, dust and production equipment
Training
Training will be provided for the right applicant.
Over time, the successful applicant may be trained in dry food milling, sieving, blending, production documentation, food safety procedures, forklift work and customer delivery documentation.
