We are currently seeking a professional and enthusiastic Mandarin-Speaking Tour Guide to join our growing team.
About the Role
As a Tour Guide, you will be responsible for leading visitors on day tours throughout Cairns and Far North Queensland, including destinations such as Kuranda, Atherton Tablelands, Cape Tribulation, Daintree Rainforest, and Paronella Park.
You will provide informative commentary, ensure guest safety and comfort, and deliver exceptional customer service throughout each tour.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist tour guests throughout their journey.
- Conduct guided tours and provide engaging commentary in Mandarin and English.
- Share information about local history, culture, wildlife, and natural attractions.
- Operate tour vehicles safely when required.
- Manage tour schedules and daily itineraries.
- Coordinate attraction entry, transport arrangements, and guest activities.
- Monitor guest safety and wellbeing during tours.
- Respond to customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety requirements.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Fluent Mandarin Chinese and proficient English communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience in tourism, hospitality, customer service, or a related industry.
- Current Australian Open Driver Licence (Class C).
- Current Queensland Driver Authorisation (DA) or willingness to obtain.
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 or equivalent).
- Ability to pass a National Police Check.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Tour Guide or Driver Guide.
- Tourism qualification (Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or equivalent).
- Knowledge of Cairns and Far North Queensland attractions.
- Experience working with Chinese-speaking visitors.
- Social media and online communication experience.
