Located at Perth Airport, Maroomba Airlines operates a fleet of Dash 8 aircraft, delivering tailored charter services to valued clients across Western Australia. We are currently seeking an experienced, highly organised, reliable and motivated Operations Controller with strong integrity and a commitment to operational excellence to join our dynamic team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Team Leader, the Operations Controller supports the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of daily charter operations. This fast-paced role involves coordinating flight and ground operations, monitoring schedules, communicating with crew and stakeholders, assisting in business development, coordinating new business, and responding to operational changes as they arise.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily flight operations, crew movements and aircraft scheduling to support safe, efficient and compliant charter services.
- Monitor operational changes, weather conditions, airport and airspace restrictions, delays and other factors affecting flight operations, escalating issues where required.
- Liaise professionally with flight crew, ground staff, clients, maintenance providers and other stakeholders.
- Support dispatch, flight following, operational tracking and accurate record keeping.
- Maintain clear communication, compliance reporting and safety management system support.
- Assist with additional operational duties as required to support the wider operations team.
Essential Criteria

Australian Year 12 Certificate (or equivalent).
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision-making capability and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a time-critical environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Sound computer literacy and ability to learn operational systems quickly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Professional presentation and strong work ethic.
- Commitment to aviation safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Desirable Criteria

Aviation, Travel, or Operations qualification (or completion of an Aviation Traineeship).
- Previous experience in an aviation operations, charter, or airline environment.
- Working knowledge of Australian aviation legislation and CASA regulatory framework.
- Experience using Aviation Management Systems such as SkyNet, Harmony, or similar.
- Dangerous Goods Awareness Certification.
- Radio Operator’s Licence.
- Crew Resource Management (CRM) / Human Factors training.
- Provide First Aid Certificate.
- Understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) principles.
