We are currently seeking a motivated and hands-on Trades Assistant to join our team at our Grong Grong Piggery in New South Wales.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) commencing in October 2026. Working alongside our Maintenance team, you'll play an important role in ensuring the site, equipment and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, has experience with tools and machinery, and takes pride in maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of site buildings, equipment and infrastructure.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Carry out basic welding and fabrication duties.
- Support repairs to machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment and spare parts.
- Perform general site maintenance, repairs and housekeeping.
- Work safely while following company policies and biosecurity requirements.
- Assist the Maintenance team with other duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience working as a Trades Assistant, Farm Hand, Maintenance Assistant or in a similar hands-on role.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Basic to intermediate welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience operating machinery or mechanical equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle to travel to and from the Grong Grong Piggery.
- The ability to work in a physically demanding environment and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
To be considered for this position, applicants must:
- Be available to commence employment in October 2026.
- Hold a current Australian driver's licence and have reliable transport.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including a Drug & Alcohol screening.
- Be willing to work in a piggery environment and comply with all biosecurity and animal welfare requirements.
