Duties and responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of support workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the
- delivery of high-quality care and support services.
- Providing effective day-to-day briefing and supervision to the support worker team, ensuring
- that they are equipped with the necessary resources, information, and support to deliver
- high-quality care and support to participants.
- Ensuring that resources such as Personal Protective Equipment, forms, activity resources,
- weekly shopping and petty cash are up-to-date, available, and managed.
- Onboarding of new team members.
- Prepare required reports for internal and external purposes.
- Complete all associated administrative work as per agreed schedules, to ensure timely lodgement of claims / invoices.
- Implement a system for monitoring and evaluating service quality and participant outcomes.
- Identify and address any compliance or quality issues.
Essential Criteria:
- Current NDIS Workers Clearance Check.
- Current First Aid certificate and CPR.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Completed relevant training modules (e.g. NDIS worker Orientation Module, Infection Control training.)
- Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within the disability or healthcare sector.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Experience in working with person-centred planning techniques in addition to delivering and leading excellent supports practices.
- Can work seamlessly as both an active support worker and a Senior Support Worker.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload while working under pressure.
- Experience in supervising and supporting staff to take ownership and responsibility for the quality of support they deliver.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of support services to individuals with complex to high support need disabilities and challenging behaviours (including medical support needs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment or independently.
- Knowledge and application of safe manual handling practices.
- Sound Knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators.
- Current Australian Driver’s License and access to a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle (suitable for transporting consumers).
- Certificate III or higher qualification in Disability, Community Services, or a related field.
- Exhibiting an understanding of the various intrinsic and extrinsic motivators to engage people at work. Provide them with appropriatereinforcements and recognition as an inspiration to accomplish their professional objectives.
- Teamwork Collaboratively work with each other to accomplish common goals and objectives while keeping any minor feuds aside for mutual growth.
- Effectively put across one's thoughts and ideas clearly and briefly, using appropriate language and grammar in written and oral forms of communication.
- Demonstrating an ability to resolve issues and overcome challenges.
