You will provide strategic leadership in pre-lodgement and assessment processes, including chairing discussions with applicants and stakeholders to deliver expert advice on complex applications, legislative requirements, policy frameworks and compliance obligations.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with local governments, industry, community groups and government agencies to address complex assessment matters, influence outcomes, negotiate solutions and support state and local planning objectives. Lead and contribute to key industry forums and working groups to drive priority initiatives and industry outcomes.
Lead the planning and delivery of strategic business centre projects, including project scoping, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement and implementation to achieve organisational objectives and continuous improvement outcomes.
Provide expert technical and strategic advice on complex development and environmental applications, including environmental risk assessments, evaluation of environmental impact statements, formulation of approval conditions, and alignment with state and national environmental policies. Oversee assessments of high-risk and complex industrial, local government and environmentally relevant activities, ensuring robust decision-making and legislative compliance.
Research, critically analyse and synthesise technical reports, scientific information and emerging issues to support evidence-based decision-making, policy development and strategic advice. Deliver high-quality insights and recommendations to management on trends, service demands and opportunities for improvement.
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team by fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement. Provide mentoring, supervision and peer review to maintain quality outcomes, build capability and support professional development. Advise management on workforce development priorities, capability-building initiatives and succession planning.
Promote positive workplace relationships and champion a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace that values diversity, equity and the prevention of bullying, discrimination and harassment. Actively support and promote better outcomes for First Nations peoples through inclusive engagement and decision-making practices.
