Job Statement
We're looking for an experienced Emergency Services Officer to join our Laverton Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated emergency response professional who thrives in a hands-on mining environment and is passionate about protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of others.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our site is prepared to respond to emergency situations, while supporting injury management, emergency preparedness and work health and safety initiatives.
About the role
As our Emergency Services Officer, you'll be responsible for delivering emergency response capability across site, providing immediate emergency response when required and ensuring our emergency systems, equipment and personnel remain operationally ready.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating emergency response activities and supporting site emergency incidents.
- Maintaining site emergency response systems.
- Leading Emergency Response Team (ERT) training, development and ongoing readiness.
- Developing and reviewing emergency response procedures, risk assessments and TARP documentation.
- Working closely with site leaders, contractors and external medical providers to continuously improve emergency preparedness.
About you
You are a calm, capable and proactive emergency services professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in keeping people safe.
You'll bring:
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response.
- Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence.
- Experience responding to emergency situations and medical incidents.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of site.
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement and teamwork.
Highly regarded:
- Previous experience in a mine site Emergency Services Officer role.
- Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance) or equivalent.
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
