About this Position:
The Strategic Engineer is responsible for delivering strategic planning initiatives that advance the development of our water, sewerage and urban stormwater assets. This role provides technical expertise and strategic guidance to ensure the delivery of safe, sustainable, and cost-effective provision of critical water, sewer and urban stormwater services.
The position involves assessing existing water, sewer and urban stormwater systems, forecasting future demand, developing capital and operational plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, environmental, and community standards.

What we trust you to deliver:
- Analyse problems, develop and evaluate alternative scenarios, and contribute to practical, evidence-based solutions for delivery under Local Government project delivery frameworks.
- Provides justified and articulate advice to support strategic planning, and asset investment decisions that facilitate effective long-term capital investment plans that are cognisant of operational, legislative and delivery constraints.

- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements and account for emerging industry influences.
What you will need to be successful:
- Proven experience in water, sewerage and urban stormwater infrastructure planning, design and/or delivery.
- Strong understanding of the regulations and standards for the planning, design, construction and operation of water supply, sewerage, and stormwater systems.
- Experience providing technical advice to support evidence-based planning and investment decisions.
- Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and environmental requirements affecting water, sewerage and urban stormwater services in Australia.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, prioritising, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institute or willingness to join e.g. Engineers Australia, Australia Water Association.
- SafeWork Construction Induction Certificate
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
